Morrill Group, an independent insurance agency based in Norwood, Mass., has acquired Goldman Ernest & Liner Insurance Agency of Needham, Mass.
Financial terms of the transaction were not released.
Founded about 10 years ago, Goldman, Ernest & Liner will operate as a subsidiary of Morrill Insurance. Stephen Liner, president of Goldman, will become vice president and head of commercial lines for the combined entities. Approximately five employees from Goldman will be joining Morrill Group, said Jerry Vigneron, managing director of North Bridge Advisors, which represented Morrill in the transaction.
Founded in 1879, Morrill Group has Massachusetts offices in Norwood, Sudbury (Sudbury Insurance Agency) and Wrentham. The firm offers personal and commercial insurance.
