Catlin U.S. said it has appointed Steven Ensign as director of the Direct Property Facultative Department for Catlin's U.S. Reinsurance Operations in Hartford.
Catlin U.S. comprises the U.S.-based operations of international specialty property and casualty insurer and reinsurer Catlin Group Limited.
Mr. Ensign has been with the Catlin Group and predecessor companies since 1999, performing a variety of roles within the reinsurance operation, the company said. Prior to joining Catlin, he worked as an underwriter for Employers Reinsurance Company and CNA Insurance and as a client manager for Marsh.
Joe Horan, director of Catlin U.S. Reinsurance operations, said, "Throughout his career Steve has demonstrated leadership and vision for his team. The same skills that he has shown in our Hartford branch will serve him well in his new role as director of our U.S. Direct Property Facultative operations."
In related changes, Rick Watson, who formerly held the position of director, will be assuming a new technical role as a Referral Underwriter. Diane Shelton will assume Mr. Ensign's former role as branch manager for the Direct Property Facultative Department in Hartford.
