The two leading insurance brokers were among nine other property and casualty insurance entities that achieved a perfect score in the latest survey measuring corporate equality toward lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees.
In the 9th annual "Corporate Equal Index 2011: Rating American Workplaces on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Equality" produced by the Human Right's Campaign (HRC), insurance brokers Aon and Marsh & McLennan Companies produced perfect scores of 100 percent, making them among the best places to work for LGBT people.
This is the fourth year in a row Aon has scored 100 and the second year in a row for MMC.
In a statement, Kathryn Komsa, chief diversity officer at Marsh & McLennan Companies, said, "The HRC adjusts the expectations of its Corporate Equality Index upward each year and Marsh & McLennan Companies continues to work toward ensuring that our culture reflects the inclusive standards they have set."
MMC is the parent company of insurance broker Marsh and reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter.
Aon and MMC joined 335 other businesses that achieved 100 percent scores in this year's survey, employing more than 8.3 million full-time U.S. workers. In last year's survey, 305 companies had perfect scores.

Wells Fargo & Co. came in with a perfect score of 100, the same as last year, and BB&T Corp. had a score of 88, up from 73 last year.
A total of 43 insurance companies were part of the survey, 18 of which came in with a score of 100. Of those, eight are notable property and casualty companies.
