ReSource Pro, an insurance process outsourcing provider, announced it has received the ISO/IEC 27001 information security management certification from the International Organization for Standardization, a publisher of global business standards.
This certificate is recognized across data-centric industries as external verification that the business in question has adopted rigid security standards in order to better defend its own operations and all forms of client data from unsanctioned access and use.
Data security breaches can create serious liabilities for companies that deal with confidential information. They can lead to unforeseen E&O liabilities, lawsuits, criminal charges, an immediate loss of business, and long-term damage to a company's public profile. As more and more confidential information makes its way onto digital servers, many regulatory bodies have enhanced related regulations at the state, federal, and international levels.
ReSource Pro responded to this demand for security in all fields by earning third-party approval of an operational framework designed to minimize data-related liabilities. This certification concludes an extensive review process and places ReSource Pro among the most trusted providers of business process outsourcing: all 100 of the top-ranking companies on the 2010 Global Outsourcing list compiled by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals are ISO 27001 certified.
ReSource Pro partnered with several consulting firms to confirm its adherence to all ISO 27001 standards over a two-year period. The company will also be subject to annual on-site audits in which an independent risk management firm will work to verify the company's continued compliance with established guidelines and recommend any relevant system upgrades.
