Due to changes prompted by the mid-term elections, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has chosen a new vice president and secretary-treasurer.
Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon was elected vice president of the NAIC.
Michael T. McRaith, Illinois insurance director, was elected secretary-treasurer.
In October, Donelon was elected by the NAIC to become secretary-treasurer and former Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner Kim Holland was elected vice president after serving her term as secretary-treasurer.
A new election was needed when Ms. Holland was defeated in the mid-term elections by Republican John Doak.
Mr. Donelon and Mr. McRaith join President Susan E. Voss, Iowa's insurance commissioner, and President-elect Kevin McCarty, insurance commissioner in Florida on the executive committee.
Ms. Voss may be replaced as commissioner in Iowa, as the state did not elect the incumbent candidate for governor there.
