Itasca, Ill.-based insurance broker Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. said it has acquired Behnke & Co., Inc., headquartered in Decatur, Ill.
Financial terms of the transaction were not released.
Established in 1983, Behnke & Co. is a retail insurance broker providing commercial property and casualty, employee benefits and risk management consulting services to their clients throughout the United States. The firm specializes in insurance coverage for the agricultural processing, medical malpractice, construction, entertainment, hospitality, public entity, transportation and manufacturing industries.
Christopher Behnke, the firm's principal, and his associates, a total of 40 employees, will continue to operate from their current locations under the direction of Thomas J. Gallagher, Midwest Regional Manager of AJG's retail p&c brokerage operation.
