For the fourth consecutive year insurers are actively searching for and selecting third party software to replace legacy core insurance systems. These multi-million dollar, mission-critical undertakings must be planned and executed like any other strategic project.

The successes and failures of such deployments will be discussed in a complimentary Web seminar on Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 12 noon EST. The program is titled: Do's and Don'ts of Insurance Software Selection.

Featured speakers are George Grieve is the CEO and founder of CastleBay Consulting, and Steve Boyd, president of the commercial lines division of Arrowhead Insurance.

Castle Bay is a leading insurance consulting and services provider. Prior to founding the company, Grieve was a consulting principal with IBM's Insurance Solutions Unit, specializing in large-scale business and systems integration projects for leading U.S. and Canadian insurers.

Grieve is a regular contributor to Tech Decisions magazine, writing the column "Shop Talk."

Boyd joined Arrowhead in 1995 and was appointed president of the commercial division in 2010. He is responsible for the strategic oversight of the commercial division's underwriting profit, carrier relationships, risk management and business development.

Most recently, Boyd served as Arrowhead's CIO and COO from 2007-2010. His expertise in Arrowhead's online systems ensures technology is used as a competitive tool in the insurance marketplace for Arrowhead's workers' compensation and commercial products online premium indications and binding.

Since joining Arrowhead in 1995, Boyd has held a number of roles throughout the company from underwriting and marketing to technology and management. In 2000, he led the team that developed private label insurance services to independent agencies, banks, and other financial institutions. In 2001,

Boyd was promoted to vice president of IS and oversaw the development of a full-service online product distribution platform for Arrowhead's independent agencies.
