COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.–The Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI) said its Board of Governors elected Robert A. DiMuccio as PCI's new chairman.
Mr. DiMuccio is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Amica Mutual Insurance Company.
PCI announced at its annual meeting here that its board also elected Donald G. Southwell, president and CEO of Unitrin Inc., as first vice chair and Jonathan E. Michael, president and CEO of RLI Corp., as second vice chair.
Mr. DiMuccio started with Amica in 1991 as a vice president in the accounting department and became treasurer in 1996. He became chief financial officer in 2001 and executive vice president in 2003, before being named president and CEO in 2005. Mr. DiMuccio became chairman in 2008.
Outgoing PCI Chair Janice Abraham, president and CEO of United Educators Insurance, said the association succeeded in reaching two of her goals–getting a "seat at the table" and increasing education of international issues among its members.
"We made a difference this year. We told our story and they [legislators] heard it," she told delegates on the last day of the meeting, adding that serving as chair had been "a treat–interesting, challenging and a lot of fun."
