Insurance technology company Applied Systems honored nine insurance carriers for excellence in interface communications with agencies and brokerages. In addition, 59 other insurance companies were recognized for download performance and real-time rating.

Personal Lines Interface Leadership Awards went to EMC Insurance Companies, The Hanover Insurance Group, Harleysville Insurance, New York Central Mutual Fire Insurance Company, and The Cincinnati Insurance Company.

Commercial Lines Interface Leadership Awards went to Accident Fund Insurance Company of America and Penn National Insurance.

The Interface Leadership Awards recognize companies' efforts to advance insurance automation and/or implement batch alerts, which are policy- or claim-related activities or events from carriers that go directly into a management system and attach to client files. Carriers received the awards at a ceremony in Chicago during the 2010 Technology, Education & Networking Conference hosted by ASCnet, the Applied Systems Client Network.

Allied Insurance and Chubb Group of Insurance Companies won Innovation Interface Leadership Awards. Allied was recognized for combined implementation of personal and commercial lines interface, and Chubb for the recent implementation and promotion of claims download and batch alerts.

In total, 59 other carriers received the Applied Systems Partner award. Partner companies were recognized for rating in real time using IVANS Transformation Station in the United States or downloading through Applied Systems WARP in Canada for at least one line of business.

"This year's winners represent the best of the best, and offer Applied Systems clients a rounded suite of download, real-time inquiry and real-time rating transactions," says Doug Johnston, vice president of partner relations and product innovations at Applied Systems. "We appreciate the partnerships we have with our carriers and look forward each year to recognizing those who lead the way in interface advancements."
