In travel-heavy times, such as spring and summer break and the winter holidays, general liability is something to take into account.
In the summer, the places that make me the most nervous are local swimming pools and water parks. The pools in my area use strictly concrete surfaces , which get very slick when wet. We've all seen kids running and jumping around the pool and had that sickening feeling that something terrible is going to happen.
Another issue to take into consideration is workers' compensation. More construction occurs during the spring and summer seasons, creating more exposure to accidents. The summer heat can create tough working conditions for construction workers and other outdoor occupations. There are long-term and short-term risks to consider. Sun burns, dehydration, and heat stroke are a few short-term effects of heat. An even more severe consequence that might arise in the future is claims for skin cancer. Through good supervision, scheduled water breaks, and training on heat safety, heat risks can be significantly reduced.
