Warwick, R.I.-based insurer The Beacon Mutual Insurance Company has joined the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America's independent agent branding campaign, Trusted Choice, becoming the 54th company member.
Beacon Mutual is chartered by the State of Rhode Island and is the largest writer of workers' compensation insurance and commercial insurance in the state, according to the company's website.
According to Highline Data, which is owned by Summit Business Media, which also owns National Underwriter, Beacon Mutual insures 59 percent of the workers' comp market in Rhode Island and is the seventh-largest insurer overall in the state.
"We are pleased to have been asked to join Trusted Choice as it is consistent with our desire to work with independent insurance agents to meet the evolving needs of our clients," said James Rosati, Beacon Mutual president and chief executive officer, in a statement.
"By joining the Trusted Choice brand, they are making an investment in their future and the independent insurance agency system while building on their reputation for providing responsive customer service," said Dave Evans, Trusted Choice executive director.

Trusted Choice is the consumer marketing brand for approximately 10,000 independent insurance agencies and brokerage firms and 55 leading insurance companies.
