Hedley Blane was named chief underwriting officer of the Hartford Financial Services Group Inc.'s subsidiary, Hartford Financial Products International Ltd (HFPI).
HFPI underwrites a broad range of corporate management liability insurance for multi-national commercial entities and financial institutions through its offices in the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
Mr. Blane will be based in HFPI's London office and report to Christopher Magee, managing director of HFPI.
He brings more than 20 years of financial lines experience with a specific focus on directors and officers insurance for multi-national companies. He joins HFPI from insurance broker Marsh, where he served as senior vice president in the firm's Financial Products (FinPro) practice in London.
Prior to Marsh, Mr. Blane held senior underwriting roles at Arch and ACE Europe as well as senior broker roles with HSBC, Sedgwick and Marsh in the U.K. and Australia.
