Steven D. Johnson has been named chief executive officer of the Applied Systems Client Network (ASCnet), according to Lisa Parry Becker, chairwoman of the association.
Mr. Johnson is an professional with deep experience working with entrepreneurial business owners to improve their firms' profitability and success, said Ms. Becker, who is also vice president at Langhorne, Pa.-based William B. Parry & Son, Ltd.
Mr. Johnson has held staff leadership roles in five associations over the last 26 years. Most recently, he was executive director of the National Association of Quick Printers.
Ms. Becker said Mr. Johnson's experience in leading associations through transition times will be vital as ASCnet moves its headquarters to a new location in suburban Chicago later this year.
Mr. Johnson succeeds Rick Morgan, who served as interim CEO for the past 10 months.
Mr. Morgan was named vice president of new media at Aartrijk, an insurance industry branding firm. He is chairman of Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America's Agents Council for Technology Social Web Workgroup and is a director-at-large for the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York.
Founded in 1985 and based in Altamonte Springs, Fla., ASCnet, the Applied Systems software user group, is an international association representing more than 80,000 insurance professionals in 11 countries and territories.
