Liz Flynn was named global chief operating officer for reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC., a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies.
Ms. Flynn will be based in New York and will report to Peter Zaffino, Guy Carpenter's president and chief executive officer. She replaced Charlie Frye, who left the company several months ago for other opportunities.
She will be responsible for developing and implementing Guy Carpenter's global strategic operational initiatives. Guy Carpenter said Ms. Flynn will oversee the firm's Client Support Services and Information Technologies groups, as well as Reinsurance Solutions LLC (RSL), the wholly-owned subsidiary of Guy Carpenter in the United States and RSL's affiliate in the United Kingdom.
Before joining Guy Carpenter, Ms. Flynn was senior vice president of the Restructuring Office–Separation and Transition Management at American International Group. Previously, she was AIG's corporate vice president of Global Transformation Initiatives.
