John J. Bauer, director of regulatory reporting for Prudential Financial, received The Insurance Accounting & Systems Association Inc.'s Presidential Award during the association's recent meeting in Dallas.

Current IASA President Jim Keal of Accident Fund Group presented the award at the association's Annual Educational Conference & Business Show earlier this week.

Mr. Bauer is a former IASA president.

"Looking back at [Mr. Bauer's] volunteer service to the IASA, there are many similarities to mine," said Mr. Keal in a statement. "He was president of the association, spent much of his volunteer career in the education program, and was a critical part of the group that helped define the theme for this year."

IASA also awarded Access Insurance Company its 2010 Technology Innovation Award for the development of the instant access application, which executes all business rules and processes needed to provide a quote, bind and issue a policy.

The association also announced that the 3rd Annual Executive EDGE Conference will be held Sept. 26-28 at the Marriott Oak Brook Hills Resort in Oak Brook, Ill.

IASA said it is seeking papers for inclusion in its educational offerings during its 2011 Annual Educational Conference and Business Show, which will be held in Nashville, Tenn., June 5-8. The association said it will accept submissions beginning July 1 until Aug. 31.

Individuals, member companies and industry volunteers are encouraged to submit potential topics and suggested speakers on the IASA website via the Call for Papers link.
