The client-server application can be easily integrated with other systems as well as maintained by internal staff. "One of the features our clients like is once they've implemented and deployed iWorks Navigator Illustrations, they can maintain it on their own, using the same tools we used to develop the product to change rates, alter product definitions, or revise illustration pages," Adams says. "This helps clients reduce costs and improve speed to market."

SunGard's iWorks solutions are installed in more than 2,500 sites in 50-plus countries. More than half of the top-50 life insurance companies ranked in the Global Fortune 500 use the solution, according to Adams. Customers value SunGard's industry experience and the depth and breadth of its solutions, Adams affirms. "Because our staff is so knowledgeable in this industry, we're able to understand key business problems right away," she says. "Our focus is not so much on how the technology is developed but on how the technology plays a role in aligning the solution to clients' problems."
