The National Association of Insurance Women, New York City Chapter, paid tribute to outstanding female achievers in the insurance industry at its annual recognition and award luncheon last week.

This year, NAIW granted the award for Outstanding Achiever to Kathleen Tierney, senior vice president at Chubb.

Since 1976, NAIW has presented the Helen M. Garvin Award to women who have demonstrated leadership, professionalism and exceptional service in the industry. Helen M. Garvin was founder of the association and dedicated to the advancement of professional insurance women.

The Enterprising Achiever Award went to Erin M. Kennedy, sales and risk consultant at Marsh.

In addition, in line with the association's mission of advancing learning and professional development, The Taylor Colicchio and Silverman Scholarship was awarded to Karen Belanich of Arch Insurance to assist in advancing her professional development in reinsurance.

The chapter's current president, Jill Arnold, business development director at global art insurance specialist AXA Art, has been appointed to a second term. Ms. Arnold expressed her desire to use the second term "to continue to reinforce the strong values of giving back to the community in which we do business."

This, she said, is "the true measure of our success."
