The Insurance Council of New Jersey (ICNJ) has named Deana Lykins president.
She will oversee the New Jersey property and casualty advocacy organization.
Ms. Lykins was a principal in a Trenton lobbying firm before joining ICNJ.
Previously, she served as national state government policy manager for a major pharmaceutical company and as deputy counsel and Senate Commerce Committee aide to the New Jersey Senate Majority. There, she advised legislators on insurance regulation, consumer affairs, regulated professions, banking and telecommunications, ICNJ said.
Ms. Lykins said in a statement, "The ICNJ advocates for improved markets for property and casualty policyholders and promotes the interest of its insurers in New Jersey. I look forward to leading the ICNJ's efforts."
