Ron Nash, former head of catastrophe management operations at XL Capital, has announced the launch of a new consulting firm, Notional Catastrophe Risk Global, LLC, in partnership with a custom software developer.

The new catastrophe management firm will target small- and medium-sized reinsurance and insurance companies seeking to better manage their exposure risks, he said in a statement.

Based in Stamford, Conn., NCR will have Robert Moskal, the principal of a custom software development company for 15 years, heading the firm's software capabilities.

NCR's announcement said it will help companies manage exposure risk using advanced modeling technology and catastrophe management best practices.

Mr. Nash said, "NCR Global can be thought of as a second pair of professional eyes for these companies to use when dealing with the very complex problem of cat management. In a world where modeling vendors want to sell catastrophe models and brokers want to sell insurance products to (re)insurance companies, it makes sense to bring in an expert beforehand without ties to either group."

The firm, he said, offers a full spectrum of services from helping companies select model vendors and providing implementation plans to instituting best practices while mentoring employees.

Additionally, software development capabilities, it was explained, allow NCR Global to offer front-end data capture tools and sophisticated analytics, reports and visualizations tailored to specific customer needs.

More information is available by contacting Mr. Nash at (203) 975-8480 or ron@ncrglobal.com, or via the Web site at www.ncrglobal.com. The global base for the company is at 1611 Washington Blvd, Stamford.
