Starr Aviation Agency Inc., a subsidiary of C.V. Starr & Co. Inc., has acquired International Aerospace Insurance Services Inc., a managing general agent in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Financial terms of the deal were not released.
Inter-Aero provides risk solutions for aerospace risks focusing on space, general aviation, commercial aviation and workers' compensation. The MGA has been a privately held company since 2005 and underwrites on behalf of several "A"-rated carriers.
Starr Aviation underwrites a comprehensive series of allied insurance products that are written on behalf of its insurance partners and its Financial Services Authority approved Lloyds Syndicates.
Starr Aviation's product offerings include: airline, aerospace manufactured products, aviation general liability, general aviation hull and liability, and aviation workers' comp.
"The acquisition of Inter-Aero expands not only our distribution network but also our suite of products," Bill Eason, president of Starr Aviation, said in a statement. "Inter-Aero's team of professionals has a strong presence in the space market and greatly enables our entry into that business. The general aviation team will provide quality services to expand our West Coast network."
