Insurance brokerage Brown & Brown announced that C. Roy Bridges has been named regional president responsible for most of the company's retail operations in the Western United States.
The Daytona Beach, Fla.-based firm said Mr. Bridges will continue to have regional oversight responsibility for certain offices in Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. As president, he will have expanded responsibility in further growing the company's overall operations in that region.
Mr. Bridges joined Brown & Brown in 1987, when the agency in which he was a principal was acquired. He was profit center leader of the Fort Myers, Fla., retail office from 1993 to 1998. From 1998 to 2001, he served as profit center leader of the firm's Tampa, Fla., retail office. In 2001 he was named regional executive vice president.
J. Powell Brown, Brown & Brown's president and chief executive officer, said in a statement: "This action furthers our effort to continue to strengthen our retail presence in the West. Roy has served very effectively for nearly a decade as one of our regional executive vice presidents and will provide leadership in our Western retail area just as he has in our Florida and National retail divisions."
