Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc. said Howard Olderman was named the group's president at its annual convention in Mashantucket, Conn.

Mr. Olderman is president of The Olderman and Hallihan Agency Inc. in Ansonia, Conn. He has been on the PIA of Connecticut's board of directors since 2002.

The new president has served as vice president of the association's Administrative--Nominations Committee and a member of the Executive--Budget and Finance Committee.

Also elected to one year terms were:

o James Berliner was named president-elect. Mr. Berliner is president of Berliner-Gelfand & Co. Inc., in Bridgeport, Conn.

o Named vice presidents were Timothy Russell, senior member of The Russell Agency, LLC, in Southport, Conn. and Brian Schmitt Sr., president of Curtiss, Crandon & Moffette Inc. in Trumbull, Conn.

o Augusto Russell, a producer and partner at May, Bonee & Walsh Inc. in East Berlin, Conn., was named treasurer.

o Peter Frascarelli, chief operating officer for the Peter M. Bakker Agency Inc., in Avon, Conn., was named secretary.

o James Goodman, president of Goodman Insurance in Shelton, Conn., will serve as immediate past president.

The association also announced the election of the officers to the Connecticut Young Insurance Professionals, naming Angela Brunetti, of The Distel Group in Farmington, Conn., as president.

Also named were:

o Shannon Rabbett Hollman of The Rabbett Insurance Agency in Windsor, Conn., as president-elect.

o Marsha Hillman of Crystal Restoration Services in Southington, Conn., as treasurer.

o Scott Cronin of J.C. Bradley & Son Inc. in Fairfield, Conn., as secretary.
