GuideOne Insurance, a West Des Moines-based carrier that insures churches, private schools and colleges as well as senior living communities, has announced three executive changes.
Mark Joos has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer. Mr. Joos was previously senior vice president of finance. Before that, he managed the insurance practice for the Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska regions at Price Waterhouse in Kansas City.
Lee Pallardy was named vice president and chief underwriter. He was previously vice president of commercial lines. His responsibilities will now expand to include both commercial and personal lines. Before joining GuideOne in 2008, Mr. Pallardy served as senior vice president of underwriting for Argonaut Great Central Insurance, a commercial specialty insurer that writes churches, daycares and private schools.
Scott Reddig has been appointed group executive vice president. Mr. Reddig, who was previously senior vice president and chief actuary of the company, will be in charge of actuarial, sales, claims and underwriting. Before joining GuideOne in 1999, Mr. Reddig served as vice president and chief actuary of the Allied Insurance Group. He also served as assistant vice president and actuary of Nationwide Insurance.
GuideOne also announced Gilbert Korthals as the company's assistant vice president and chief actuary. His responsibilities will include personal and commercial lines pricing, reinsurance and reserving. Mr. Korthals joined GuideOne in 1988 and was previously assistant vice president and corporate actuary.
