The federal government has pushed back the deadline for reporting requirements under the Medicare Secondary Payer Act until next January. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced on Feb. 16 that it has agreed to push back the deadline for compliance from April 1, 2010, to Jan. 1, 2011. The workers' compensation industry had pushed strongly for the delay, citing concerns meeting technology and privacy requirements.
