Lockton Companies, based in Kansas City, Mo., said it has named Thomas J. Schaffler to the newly created position of president of the brokerage's Chicago office employee benefits practice.
Mr. Schaffler joined Lockton more than 10 years ago as executive vice president and producer and serves on the Chicago executive committee. He is also a member of the Lockton benefits group executive committee.
"Tom has been a driving force behind the growth and development of our very successful Chicago benefits practice," said J. Michael Brewer, president, Lockton benefit group. "The Chicago benefits team is doing tremendous work to help clients deal with rising costs and in the implementation of health risk management approaches."
Lockton also announced the appointment of Sheri Pixley to the newly created position of executive vice president and practice leader of the Dallas-based health and welfare practice at Lockton Dunning Benefits.
The firm said Ms. Pixley joined Lockton Dunning Benefits in 1992 as a consultant and has held various positions of increasing responsibility over the past 18 years. Under her leadership the Lockton-Dallas benefit practice has grown from less than 20 to more than 120 associates.
Prior to joining Lockton Dunning Benefits, Ms. Pixley was a consultant with Aon Corp. for seven years. She began her career in 1982 in the corporate headquarters of Allstate Life Insurance Co.
