Burns & Wilcox, a managing general agent and wholesale brokerage based in Farmington Hills, Mich., announced the launch of a new Chicago-based brokerage arm today to be led by Daniel Rossen.
The new company, known as Burns & Wilcox Brokerage, is charged with expanding the national scope, depth and presence of the current brokerage business of Burns & Wilcox.
Mr. Rossen, a 20-year veteran of the insurance industry, joined Burns & Wilcox as vice president of Burns & Wilcox Brokerage, on Jan. 25.
In his new role, the company said Mr. Rossen is responsible for developing and enhancing Burns & Wilcox's reputation as national brokers, focusing on complex solutions for agents, brokers and risk- managed businesses.
Mr. Rossen was previously a senior vice president for Neace Lukens, a retail insurance firm in Chicago. Prior to that, he co-founded a national wholesale brokerage firm, headquartered in Chicago, which was subsequently sold to Wells Fargo. He then served as vice president of its American E&S Division.
In addition to his brokerage experience, Mr. Rossen was once president of CEM Insurance Company and vice president of underwriting for the large property division of CNA Financial.
Burns & Wilcox Brokerage is a part of the H.W. Kaufman Financial Group, the privately held parent company of Burns & Wilcox, the managing general agent and wholesaler with 39 offices in 24 states and an office in London, England.
