Foremost Insurance Group announced Jan. 4 its expansion to its Dwelling Fire program in New Jersey. Foremost now accepts more landlord and rental property customers and offers new and larger discounts.

Typically known as the solution for hard-to-place landlord and owner-occupied properties, Foremost is enhancing its program to include standard and preferred business.

With Foremost's broadened underwriting, the company now accepts homes with open foundations, customers with up to five losses and multiple dwellings on premises.

Some of the changes to the Dwelling Fire program include, customers with newer homes may qualify for a discount of up to 25 percent; financial responsibility scores are now being applied to rental business (new business only); the discount for a superior financial responsibility score is 10 percent; surcharges may apply for lower scores; owners using a property management company may receive a discount; landlord association members may receive a discount; owners without prior claims may receive a discount; and customers with more than one property insured with Foremost may receive a discount.
