Chicago-based insurance brokerage Aon said Sandeep Malik has been named to the new position of chief executive officer of Asia Risk Services
Mr. Malik's appointment will be effective Feb. 1. He will be based in Hong Kong and will report to Bernard S.Y. Fung, chairman and chief executive officer of Aon Asia Pacific.
"As our region continues to grow, Aon's business and the clients we serve are becoming more complex, varied and diversified," said Mr. Fung. "Sandeep's management skills and his deep knowledge of the Asia markets will serve our Asia ARS country leaders and their colleagues well as we continue to provide distinctive value to our clients and increase revenue growth and market share."
Aon said Mr. Malik was previously chief commercial officer at Prudential Asia, where he worked extensively in each of the twelve country markets where Prudential Asia has business, including their two joint ventures in China and India.
Before joining Prudential Asia, Mr. Malik was a partner at Marakon Associates, a management consulting firm. He joined Marakon in 1994 and worked in the U.S. and European practices before relocating to build and lead the practice in Asia.
