Adaptik Corp. announced the release of PolicyWriter 6.2, a policy administration solution for property/casualty insurance carriers. This version of PolicyWriter includes expanded support for the JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, which enables companies to embrace open source technologies.

Version 6.2 provides expanded out-of-sequence processing enabling P&C carriers to handle complex policy lifecycle changes. Version 6.2 also provides a new user interface which embraces Web 2.0 concepts in both look and functionality.

Adaptik's product strategy for PolicyWriter has always included the adoption of new technology platforms as they are rationalized for the insurance technology market. With many insurers expanding their application models to include open source platforms, Adaptik leveraged JBoss' capabilities to support PolicyWriter's advanced policy administration functionality. In additions, PolicyWriter 6.2 continues to provide support for IBM's WebSphere application server.

"By harnessing the power of JBoss, PolicyWriter 6.2 has become a more powerful option among policy administration solutions," said Bulent Kivanc, chief technology officer of Adaptik. "Since PolicyWriter is deployed as a mission critical application where down time is not an option, it is purpose-built to leverage the strengths of the underlying platform."
