The CPCU Society named Douglas J. Holtz to the one-year term of president and chairman during the association's 65th annual meeting in Denver yesterday.
Mr. Holtz succeeds Marvin Kelly, who was named immediate past-president.
Mr. Holtz is a commercial underwriting consultant at the School Product Management Group of the Liberty Mutual Agency Markets in Indianapolis.
The association said Mr. Holtz told attendees he pledged to bolster the organization's appeal during his term in office.
"I dedicate myself to strengthening society membership as a multi-faceted resource--an array of increasingly valuable benefits, all for one price," Mr. Holtz said.
He also unveiled the theme of next year's annual meeting: "CPCU--Your Bridge to the Future." Mr. Holtz called on members to gather in Orlando, Fla., to "experience the future with buoyancy and optimism."
The association also named:
o Warren L. Farrar president-elect is assistant vice president--claims for State Farm.
o Steve McElhiney vice president. He is president of EWI Risk Services Inc., a reinsurance brokerage firm based in Dallas.
o Brian Savko secretary/treasurer. He is a team manager in State Farm's Murfreesboro, Tenn., office. He is serving a second term in this position.
