The National African-American Insurance Association's 11th Annual National Conference will feature a variety of events, including speakers, roundtable discussion forums, continuing education workshops, a networking reception and an awards ceremony, the association said.

The conference, to take place Oct. 22-23 in Chicago, Ill., at The Palmer House Hilton Hotel, will highlight "several changes in the insurance industry that present both challenges and opportunities to African-American industry professionals. Additionally, we will champion the use of teamwork as a key to success," Ron Allen, NAAIA national chairman, said in a statement.

Awards will honor insurance professionals who have made significant contributions to the insurance industry, NAAIA said. Attendees will represent leadership and staff roles from insurance agency/broker organizations and insurance companies.
