The Workers Compensation Research Institute (WCRI) has announced that it will host its 26th Annual Issues & Research Conference in 10 different cities instead of requiring travel to Boston, in order to accommodate attendees' travel restrictions.

The date will also be changed from November 2009 to early 2010.

Logistical details will be forthcoming, WCRI said, but the idea is to reduce travel for attendees by holding separate meetings at the same time in groups of 15-30 people. Participants at all locations will be able to join the discussion and ask questions, according to WCRI.

The organization said it plans to resume meeting in Boston in Nov. 2010, but would be open to altering that as well, depending on the feedback it receives after the multiple locations meeting.

The group said it most likely will have more details available by Sept. 15.

A WCRI spokesperson said the meetings will all happen at the same time, and all attendees will see the same presentations by video. Beyond that, she said, details are still being worked out.
