Markel Corporation has named Henry Lopez as president for Markel Midwest, the Richmond, Va.-based specialty insurer said.
Mr. Lopez was executive vice president for the Midwest region since Nov. 2008, where he led the Midwest team during Markel's recent regional model roll-out.
He joined Markel in 1995 as a financial analyst. Since then, he has held a variety of leadership positions within the underwriting, sales and marketing areas, including vice president, director of business development; vice president, marketing services; and vice president, underwriting administration.
Prior to joining Markel, Mr. Lopez worked at Allstate Insurance as a senior financial analyst.
