"Chip" Greene III, vice president of commercial insurance sales and service for Greene-Hazel and Associates in Jacksonville; and Brian R. Scarborough, CIC, REBC, vice president and co-owner of Scarborough Company Insurance in Gainesville, accepted their nominations and were elected to three-year positions on the Florida Association of Insurance Agents board of directors at the recent annual convention in Orlando. Cynthia M. Webster, president/CEO of Jack Rice Insurance in Largo, was elected vice chairman; Arturo F. Hoyo, president of Coastal Insurance Group in Miami, was named chairman-elect.
William D. "Bill" Gunter, CEO and chairman of Rogers, Gunter, Vaughn Insurance, Inc., in Tallahassee, will automatically ascend to the chairmanship. Current Chairman Braden Kirk Ball, CPCU, senior vice president of Fisher-Brown, Inc., of Pensacola, will serve one additional year on the board as the immediate past president.
At the annual luncheon, the Irma Platt Award for lifetime achievement in client service was given to Kristin D. Smith, AAI, of Boyd Insurance & Investment Services in Bradenton. The McKay Cup, which recognizes excellence in volunteer political fundraising in honor of past FAIA Chairman Richard S. McKay, was awarded to Richard R. Rosier, executive vice president of Rosier Insurance in Bonita Springs.
FAIA's most prestigious honor, the Mitchell Stallings Memorial Award, is presented to an individual in recognition of a lifetime of leadership, integrity, and service to the industry. This year, the selection committee chose to honor Harold M. Humphrey, vice president of marketing with Frontline Homeowners Insurance in Lake Mary.
