Richard J. McKenna, president of Arthur J. Gallaher & Co.'s Gallagher Bassett Services subsidiary, a third-party administrator service, has retired, the Itasca, Ill.-based insurance broker said.
"After 33 years of service at Gallagher, Rich has decided to retire," said J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., chairman, president and chief executive officer of AJG. "He has been a huge contributor to the success of our company and we wish him all the best in his retirement."
Following six years with Aetna Casualty, Mr. McKenna joined Gallagher Bassett Services Inc. He held a variety of management positions within Gallagher Bassett and was appointed executive vice president, operations in 1986. In 1994 he was named a corporate vice president of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., and in 2000 he was named president and CEO of Gallagher Bassett.
AJG said the company has begun a search for his replacement.
