Insurance broker Willis Group Holdings said it has named Jose Diaz Devesa as chief executive officer of Willis Venezuela, effective immediately.
Mr. Diaz Devesa succeeds Juan B. Arismedi, who was named non-executive chairman. Based in Caracas, Mr. Diaz Devesa will report to Eugenio Paschoal, CEO of Willis Latin America.
Mr. Diaz Devesa's most recent role was as managing director of Rontarca Prima Willis, now Willis Venezuela. He joined Prima Insurance Brokers in 1994 and was CEO when the company merged with Rontarca in 1999.
Willis, headquartered in London, entered Venezuela in 1999 by acquiring a 49 percent stake in local broker Rontarca Prima to become Rontarca Prima Willis. The operation, Willis Venezuela, is now a 100-percent-owned subsidiary of the group.
