Chris Stooke, chief financial officer for Hamilton, Bermuda-based specialty insurer and reinsurer Catlin Group Ltd., will be leaving the firm later this year. His successor has not yet been chosen, the company said.
In a statement, Mr. Stooke said that after six years with Catlin, in which the company saw a profound number of changes, he felt it was "time to seek new challenges."
Stephen Catlin, chief executive of Catlin, said he was sorry to see Mr. Stooke, who was instrumental in the firm's growth and its initial public offering depart from the company, adding "he leaves with our best wishes for the future."
Mr. Stooke joined Catlin in 2003 and served on the board of directors as an executive director since that time.
He will present the interim financial results for the period to June 30 and step down from the board at the end of October, Catlin said.
