The Council on Litigation Management (CLM) has just made it easier for adjusters and risk managers to augment existing proficiencies and add new skills.
CLM has organized a total of 250 training sessions in 25 states. These free local training sessions run from June through November of this year. Sponsoring insurance companies are hosting the sessions, which are open to all claim and insurance professionals. CLM offers eight different sessions, ranging from litigation basics for adjusters to intermediate and advanced topics, such as trial practice and negotiation strategies.
Course instructors are experienced defense lawyers, CLM members who donate their time pro bono. Each session spans two to three hours, and adjuster continuing education (CE) credits are available in 13 applicable states.
"This is one of the first times insurance companies have opened their doors to people from other companies," said Adam Potter, executive director at CLM. "Thanks to them, we can accommodate 5,000 to 6,000 students this year in 250 local sessions. It's a major expansion of the training program CLM launched in 2008."
Registration is available at www.litmgmt.org/Training.aspx. CLM membership is free for insurance professionals, risk managers, and general counsel. For more information about CLM, visit www.litmgmt.org.
