The Surety & Fidelity Association of America said Thomas Kunkel, Travelers Bond chief executive officer and president, has been elected SFAA board chairman for 2009-2010.
Mr. Kunkel was elected to the post during an election that took place at the association's 101st Annual Meeting, held this week in Washington D.C.
Tracey Vispoli, vice president, Worldwide Financial Fidelity Manager of the Chubb Group, was elected vice chair of the board. She is the global manager for Chubb's financial fidelity (crime) insurance business.
Other SFAA members elected to serve on the board were: Stephen M. Hanley, Ace USA Group vice president and chief underwriting officer; Anthony Romano, chief underwriting officer AIU Holdings; John F. Welch, president and CEO CNA Surety Corp.; Gary T. Dunbar, divisional president Great American Insurance Companies; Mary Jean Anderson, Hanover Insurance Companies vice president, bonds; Ross Fisher, The Hartford Group vice president; David Rhodes, executive vice president Insco Dico Group; Doug Browne, Insurance Company of the West senior vice president and chief surety officer; Timothy Mikolajewski, president Liberty Mutual Surety; Michael Greer, vice president Pennsylvania National Mutual Casualty Insurance Company; Gerald Leach, president and CEO Old Republic Surety Group; John Knox, president and CEO Sure Tec Insurance Company; Rick Kinnaird, Westfield Group senior executive, surety and fidelity; and Daniel Riordan, president Zurich Surety. James Sciortino, representing Everest Reinsurance, was also elected as the reinsurance representative on the board.
