Parsippany, N.J.-based risk management firm York Insurance Services Group Inc. said Anthony Galioto, a former American International Group executive, will become the firm's president and chief executive officer.
York's announcement yesterday said Mr. Galioto, who will take his post on Monday, will also become a director and report to the company board. Thomas MacArthur remains as board chairman.
Mr. Galioto, York said, previously was senior executive-East, AIG Companies, a post he was named to in 2006, where he led cross-sell efforts for all of AIG's products.
From 2000 through 2006, Mr. Galioto served as president of AIG Domestic Accident and Health and then president of Worldwide Accident and Health.
Mr. Galioto's employment history also includes serving as president of AIG Claims Service Inc.
From 1996 to 2000, he was president of AIG Insurance Services Inc. as well as head of AIG's managed care and RMIS, which are services also offered by York today, the company said.
"Since 2005, York has more than doubled in size and added numerous services for its customers," said Mr. MacArthur. "We have also completed six acquisitions and, along with the rest of the industry, entered into a far more complex operating environment.
"I have worked with Tony in a number of capacities over the years, most recently as a member of our board of directors, and his wealth of experience in insurance services and focus on serving customers will deepen our management capacity and position us for continued strong growth."
Mr. Galioto said he is excited to be joining York, "especially at this point in time. It is a strong company and is well positioned to grow in this environment."
Yor is a provider of claims-handling, specialized loss adjusting, managed care, pool administration, loss control and other risk management and insurance services.
