Trusted Choice, the independent insurance agent branding campaign, said it has received two Aurora Awards for advertising excellence.

The Alexandria, Va.-based campaign created by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America said an Aurora Gold Award for Insurance went to a Trusted Choice ad titled "Pledge of Performance."

Six Trusted Choice agents from around the country are featured in the ad reciting tenets of the Pledge.

The agents shown include Rick Gregson from Tucson, Ariz., Alex Soto from Miami, Fla., Fred Lautenbach from Littleton, Colo., Eileen Frank from New York, N.Y., Keith Riley from Benton, Ky., and Julie Turner from Greenville, S.C.

A second ad discussing Trusted Choice efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina received the Gold Aurora Award for Financial Services.

That commercial was filmed at Daniel's South Beach Restaurant in Bay St. Louis, Miss., one of the hardest hit communities in the gulf region. The ad also features the restaurant's owner Ray Murphy and Robert Rusbuldt, IIABA president and chief executive officer.

The Aurora Awards is an international competition that recognizes excellence in the film and video industries, specifically targeting commercials.

Past winners in the insurance category include GEICO and Auto Insurance Specialists. Entries are accepted from throughout the United States and abroad, including Russia, Denmark, Hong Kong, Germany, Australia and Mexico.

The 2007 Trusted Choice commercial, "Life Changes," won an Aurora Award for excellence and took home the 2007 Gold Award in the insurance category.
