John Edack was named chairman of the Surplus Line Association of California during the recent annual meeting of the association in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Mr. Edack is the executive vice president of Arch Specialty Insurance Agency, Inc., in San Francisco.
The association also named Les Ross of Crump Insurance Services, Inc. as its vice chairman and Patrick Hanley of Socius Insurance Services was named secretary-treasurer.
The association also named 10 executives committee members. They are:
o Warren Stanley of Wholesale Connection Insurance Services.
o Pamela Quilici of Crouse & Associates.
o Frank Cravens of M.J. Hall & Company, Inc.
o Doris Barnett of Colemont Insurance Brokers.
o Anne McNally of ABD Insurance Services Financial.
o Gerald J. Sullivan of Gerald J. Sullivan & Associates, Inc.
o Davis Moore of Worldwide Facilities, Inc.
o Chris Brown of Brown & Riding Insurance Brokers.
o Kris Bauer of AmWINS Insurance.
o Phil Mazur of Swett & Crawford.
The association also named former California Insurance Commissioner Harry Low to a one year term as SLA mediator. Mr. Low is a retired presiding justice of the California Court of Appeal,
The SLA is an organization of 4,000 California surplus line broker licensees. Surplus line brokers negotiate and place insurance with non-admitted or surplus line insurers. The SLA serves as the official surplus line advisory organization to the California Department of Insurance under California statutes.
