The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America said Marvin Kelly, president of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters Society, will address the group's diversity luncheon during its May 1 National Legislative Conference & Convention.

“Over the last three decades, Marvin Kelly's contributions and achievements to the insurance industry have been recognized nationally and internationally,” said Robert A. Rusbuldt, IIABA president and chief executive officer. “His address will provide a unique and informative perspective to those attending the diversity luncheon, an important event at our Legislative Conference and Convention.”

Mr. Kelly has served as the executive director of the Texas Property and Casualty Insurance Guaranty Association for the past 16 years and was recently selected as the 2008-2009 president of the CPCU Society. He served on the Society's Board of Governors from 2001-2003; co-chaired the CPCU Society Diversity Task Force from 2004-2005; and was elected vice president of the Society in 2006.

The IIABA conference will be held April 29 through May 1 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington.

Invitations to the Diversity Luncheon on May 1 are available by e-mailing a request to Bill Pierson, IIABA assistant vice president of agent development and executive director of the InVEST Program, at bill.pierson@iiaba.net.
