Red Bank, N.J.-based Teachers Auto Insurance Company of New Jersey said it has promoted its marketing executive, Marc V. Buro, to the post of president.

“I am delighted to announce that Marc Buro has been named president of the Teachers Auto Insurance Company of New Jersey,” said Gerry Wilson, chairman. “This is in recognition of his role in the company's acquisition as well as his marketing accomplishments in connection with Teachers Insurance and its affiliated companies as vice president of marketing and distribution.”

The company said Mr. Buro was principally responsible for the development of Teachers Auto Insurance's marquee partnership program–Quotes for Cash–where the company and local school districts partner to organize quote drives that provide fundraising support for the participating schools.

In addition to his new role as president of Teachers Auto Insurance, Mr. Buro is also the vice president, marketing and distribution for High Point Auto Insurance, where he is responsible for the company's agency management activities, direct-to-consumer sales and marketing activities, communications and advertising, specialty marketing efforts as well as mergers and acquisitions, the insurer said.

Mr. Buro began his insurance career in the public sector holding various positions in the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance, New Jersey Governor's Office and New Jersey Legislature.

Teachers Auto Insurance Company of New Jersey provides auto insurance exclusively to employees (active and retired) of New Jersey licensed educational facilities.
