The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America said it has named Joe Wall, who was an advisor to former Vice President Dick Cheney, as senior director of federal government affairs.
"Joe brings a wealth of government and political experience to the Big 'I,'" Charles E. Symington Jr., IIABA senior vice president for government affairs, said in a statement. "The Big 'I' is pleased to welcome him to our federal government affairs team on Capitol Hill."
Mr. Wall was deputy assistant for legislative affairs to Mr. Cheney. He also worked on the Romney for President Campaign as assistant national field director and as a floor assistant for Rep. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., in the Office of the Majority Whip of the U.S. House of Representatives.
"With so many issues coming before Congress that are important to our members, we are glad to complete our team with a professional with such pertinent executive, legislative and campaign experience," said Robert Rusbuldt, president and chief executive officer for the Alexandria, Va.-based association.
Mr. Wall replaces Jason Spence, who recently departed the IIABA to join the Minority Staff of the House Financial Services Committee.
