An insurance reform summit next month in Washington will feature representatives from the Obama administration, insurance industry, Congress and academia discussing regulatory reform, a university group announced.

The Networks Financial Institute at Indiana State University, Indianapolis, said among those scheduled to attend is U.S. Rep. Melissa Bean, D-Ill., who is a member of the House Financial Services Committee and Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance and Government Sponsored Enterprises.

Also expected are National Association of Insurance Commissioners Chief Executive Officer Therese Vaughan; Martin Grace, associate director and research associate of the Center for Risk Management and Insurance Research at Georgia State University; Scott Harrington, Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania professor of health care management and insurance and risk; Peter Gallanis, president National Organization of Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Associations; and Roger Schmelzer, president of the National Conference of Insurance Guaranty Funds.

NFI said a "new administration coupled with sweeping changes in the financial services arena presents a regulatory landscape more complex than that experienced by any previous era."

The 6th Annual Insurance Reform Summit will be held March 4 in the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.
