Zurich Financial Services Group has named Saad Mered, 42, a former executive with American International Group, as its chief executive officer Middle East.
The Zurich, Switzerland-based firm said Mr. Mered, a U.S. citizen, will be based in Dubai and will report to Geoff Riddell, CEO Asia Pacific and Middle East region.
Mr. Mered joins Zurich from AIG where he held various senior positions during his long tenure with the company, from financial lines underwriting and running AIG's Egypt operations to holding a global role in the implementation of their small business strategy, Zurich said.
