Fiserv Insurance Solutions, the Brookfield, Wis.-based technology firm, announced that on March 2 its name will change to StoneRiver.

Fiserv, a provider of technology and strategic solutions for the insurance industry, was purchased by Trident IV in July 2008. Trident IV, a private equity fund managed by Stone Point Capital LLC, acquired a 51 percent interest in Fiserv's insurance businesses for $ 500 million.

The decision to change the name was done to help customer identification and to consolidate all operations under a unifying brand name, the company said.

It added that future steps to develop the brand will include creating a new logo and a new corporate Web site that will be rolled out progressively throughout 2009.

Fiserv Insurance Solutions President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Damico said in a statement, “The name StoneRiver was selected because it symbolizes strength and transformation. We are a company with strong values, integrity and thought leadership with a track-record of commitment to long-term, successful partnerships and industry-leading innovation.”

He continued, “This is an exciting time for our employees, business partners and our loyal customers. We thank them for supporting our transition and look forward to a productive future together at StoneRiver.”
