The Captive Insurance Council of the District of Columbia (CIC-DC) said Jeffrey S. Bragg, director of the U.S. Treasury Department's Terrorism Risk Insurance Program (TRIP), will be its guest speaker Jan. 13.

Mr. Bragg will discuss the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA), its purpose and the effects it has in the insurance arena, the CIC-DC said.

TRIP implements rules, regulations, payments and restrictions in the event of a terrorist act. TRIP also ensures availability and affordability of insurance from Certified Acts of Terrorism, the CIC-DC said.

His talk is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. at Washington's L'Enfant Plaza Hotel. Cost is $45 for CIC-DC members and $65 for non-members. Online registration is available at www.dccaptives.org.
