Branchville, N.J.-based insurer Selective Insurance Group Inc. named Tony D. Harnett vice president and controller. He fills a position that was vacant for some time, according to a company spokeswoman.
Mr. Harnett joined Selective Insurance Company of America in 1999 as a senior accountant and held various finance positions over the next few years before being promoted to assistant vice president and assistant controller of Selective in 2005.
Prior to joining Selective, he was a senior auditor at Deloitte & Touche.
The company also announced the appointment of Robyn P. Turner to corporate secretary. In her new position, she assumes additional duties from the corporate counsel.
Ms. Turner joined Selective Insurance Company of America in 2006 as corporate counsel and became assistant corporate secretary in 2007. Prior to that, she was an associate with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
